A lovely blog here about an inspirational teacher, a boy and a book. It makes me so happy to read this sort of thing – makes it all worthwhile.

Look at this great cover. It's a new edition of my very first book, The Cry of the Wolf, published in Italy by my wonderful new publisher over there, Equlibri. And the cherry on the cake is that it's been shortlisted for the prestigious Children's Premio Stregga Award. The winner is announced in Bologna this March, and you get your boots I'll be there. I'm lucky enough to get to Italy once or twice a year - I love going, it's a country that has so much to offer. It's a great thing to be shortlisted for this Award. I'd be so happy if it won! - but whatever happens, I| get a trip to Italy and I'll be making the most of it! Good luck to all the shortlisted books.
