THE LOST WITCH

June 8, 2018 by Melvin Leave a Comment

Every living thing has a spirit and some people – some very special people – can see those spirits. Some can have relationships with them; some can even have powers over them.

These are the ones we call witches.

Maybe you know one. Maybe you are one and you just don’t know it yet. But watch out if you are. The Hunt is drawing near – and they want your powers for themselves.

This is my first book for five years. I hope you like it.

I SUMMON YOU, YOU CROWNED RUNNERS, I SUMMON YOU FROM SLEEP. I SUMMON AND COMMAND.

***

‘No,’ said Odi. ‘You must never forgive yourself your sins. You must live with them forever.’

***

Lars was dreaming, and as he dreamed, his shape changed.

***

The Huntsman stared down at her, his teeth gleaming like china. ‘Got you,’ he said.

***

Have a listen to the opening, when Bea first discovers her powers.

Premio Stregga Award

FB_PSR18_GridoLupo_Cover Look at this great cover. It's a new edition of my very first book, The Cry of the Wolf, published in Italy by my wonderful new publisher over there, Equlibri. And the cherry on the cake is that it's been shortlisted for the prestigious Children's Premio Stregga Award. The winner is announced in Bologna this March, and you get your boots I'll be there. I'm lucky enough to get to Italy once or twice a year - I love going, it's a country that has so much to offer. It's a great thing to be shortlisted for this Award. I'd be so happy if it won! - but whatever happens, I| get a trip to Italy and I'll be making the most of it! Good luck to all the shortlisted books. You can read more about this year's shortlist and Il Grido del Lupo here.

Bursary at Moniach Mhor

I'm tutoring a week on writing for Children and YA at lovely Moniack Mhor this July - and there's a bursary going. Snap it up quick, these thing don't last long.
